DIGITAL TECH/ARTIST POSTION 2013

Term: Full Time (Contract)

Start Date: June 1st , 2013

Established commercial and editorial photography studio seeking full time digital tech/artist. The candidate must have at minimum an intermediate level background (3+ years) of digital retouching, photography knowledge and related work experience.

Looking for someone that is precise that has detailed organizational skills that can take on responsibilities, without being asked, including, but not limited to, digital retouching and file management. Must be able to multi task and meet tight deadlines. Good communications, able to interact well with clients and work in a team-based environment are key elements to obtaining this position.

Qualifications:

• Working in a Mac environment, candidate must have a strong technical computer background
• Must be adept at Photoshop and full Adobe Creative Suite
• Previous experience with Canon SLR (Capture One), and Hasselblad system (FlexColor and Phocus)
• Knowledge of Speedotron and Broncolour
• Familiar with Epson colour printers and profiles
• Other programs include Extensis Portfolio, Intego Backup Manager Pro, iCal and Adobe Acrobat
• Basic video editing software knowledge would be beneficial

Responsibilities Include:

• Digital retouching and delivery of client files (via ftp, dvd and proofs)
• Development and maintenance of archiving system
• Updating current websites
• Portfolio updating – both digital and print
• Submitting images for contests/awards programs, and stock photography
• Minimal video editing
• Printed and digital promos
• Maintaining computers, hardware and software
• Retouching files from 2 in-house companies
• Supplying stylists with contact sheets

 

General Responsibilities Include:

• As a small team based studio, shared duties include:
  • Studio cleaning at the beginning and end of the day
  • Preparing breakfast for clients on shoot days
  • Studio errands
• Other duties, as assigned by the owner or studio manager

McCain It Easy

Can’t beat a frozen pizza when you’re feeling a little too lazy to cook!

Last Friday we worked on McCain packaging once again, and baked up some Four Meat Rising Crust Pizzas with Food Stylist Lasha, and the Anthem team. 

 

 

 

 

Shine 3

On May 16th, Silverline Studios will be hosting Shine 3, a fundraising event in honour of the very young photographer Gian Carlo Drueco, who unfortunately passed away last summer after being diagnosed with Cancer.

This years event will help raise funds to establish the “Gian Carlo Drueco Award”, a graduating prize for fourth-year students in Sheridan’s photography program.

Above is the print we will be donating to the fundraiser’s silent auction. Come support, and bid!
